The Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the enhancement of human resources through continual learning, networking and advocacy. Since 1944, our volunteer-led, non-profit association has offered services to our members including professional networking, legal updates, leadership and professional development opportunities.

PIHRA was chartered as Chapter 30 of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) on November 18, 1959 and includes the counties of Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino.

PIHRA District 6 includes the South Bay and adjacent communities, roughly from the 105 Freeway on the north to the 110 Freeway on the east, to the Pacific Coast Highway on the south and the Pacific Ocean on the west. 

The PIHRA Foundation was created "To promote and advance the Human Resource profession through education, community services and research primarily in Southern California." The major thrust of the PIHRA Foundation is to raise funds to support the "You and Your First Job" program and to award scholarships to deserving PIHRA members.
